OUTTA HERE

Me and the wife are taking a much needed vacation, so I will be out of touch for a few days. I'll be back on Friday or Saturday and will get caught up with emails and mailing out commissions and stuff then, so please just bare with me a bit longer. I still haven't gotten caught up with some of you from when I was away for Comic Con, so please accept my apologies. I promise to catch up on everything next weekend.

CLONE WARS

I recently drew 200 sketch cards for the new Clone Wars movie card series from Topps. Here's a small sample...

BACK FROM COMIC CON

Got home late on Monday and slowly recovering. Still have a lot of catching up to do, so I'll make this brief.

I of course had a great time. My thanks to everyone who stopped by and said hello or picked up a book or a sketch. Special thanks to Tim Morrell (and John!) who took me and the Viper crew (Pat, Scott, Wes, Jim, and Tony) out to dinner on Saturday.

A special highlight for me was finally getting to meet Avery Brooks, my favorite Star Trek captain - Ben Sisko of Deep Space Nine. Couldn't be a nicer guy. He took a few minutes to laugh and joke around with me, Pat, Wes, and Scott and probably shook my hand 3 times before it was over. Hearing Captain Sisko himself shout out "Josh Howard!" is a memory I won't soon forget.

I also got to meet Nicole de Boer, who played Ezri Dax in DS9's final season. I always had a huge crush on her.

This was the coolest thing at the whole show.

OFF TO COMIC CON

This is my last post before I leave for Comic Con, so I just wanted to give a couple quick updates:

- Just wrapped up a great interview with the guys at Project Fanboy. Check it out here.

- In addition to the signing times listed in my previous post, I will also be signing at Super Real Graphics on Saturday from 12 - 1 at booth S16 in the small press pavilion. What for? A really cool new project that will be announced at the show :)

- Lots of emails in the inbox - I'll try to respond before I go, but no promises. But I'll get to everything when I return next week.

- Same goes for those waiting on commissions or anything else - next week if I'm not able to get them out before I leave.

- The fan project The Josh Files, a vast database cataloging all my published work, has just been updated with a search function, pictures, and more. JJ and Tim have put hours of their time and energy into this project and I can't thank them enough. You guys are awesome!

- Just saw The Dark Knight on Saturday. Amazing. True heroism defined. Will have a lot more to say about it later.

- I'm probably forgetting something....but oh well. All for now!

COMIC CON DETAILS

It's that time of year again! This will be my 6th year to attend San Diego Comic Con and I'm still just as excited as I was the first year. I think it's probably the only thing I've experienced that leaves me both completely exhausted yet entirely re-energized. It's so inspiring to meet you guys and to be around so many talented creators that while I may be physically and mentally drained, I always get a creative boost from being there. Anyway, on to the good stuff.

My signing schedule is as follows, and as always is subject to change. Comic Con's programming is listing me in Artist Alley, but it's a mistake. I WILL NOT be in Artist Alley this year. I will be at the Viper Comics booth ONLY.

Viper Comics booth #1903

THURS: 11:00 - 1:00,   4:00 - 5:00,   6:00 - 7:00

FRI:  9:00 - 11:00,   2:00 - 4:00

SAT:  1:00 - 2:00,   3:00 - 6:00

SUN: 10:00 - 11:00,   1:00 - 3:00

And you can probably catch me on Wednesday Preview Night, too.

I will be signing and sketching for pretty much the entire time, although Sunday I may cut off sketching depending on work load from previous days or exhaustion :)

I will be implementing a new pricing system for sketches. I've been getting so bombarded with requests at shows recently that it's getting almost impossible to keep up. $20 will be for head/bust drawings, fully inked (sizes up to 9 x 12). $30 will get you a fully posed illustration (minus background, 9 x 12). For 11 x 17 or full commissions, please inquire at the show.

I will of course be selling the new GIRLS sketchbook ($10) as well as original art. Viper will have plenty copies of the Compendium, The Lost Books of Eve TPB and (fingers crossed) The 13th Brother on hand. I may even have a surprise or two ;)

Look forward to seeing you there!

BACK FROM THE DEAD

At long last the final chapter to the new Dead @ 17 series is here.

I just want to take a second and say how much I appreciate everyone's patience. For those that might have lost interest or don't care anymore - I can't say I blame you. It's taken much longer than it should have.

But I made you a promise when this whole lateness mess started, and now I'm making good on it. You can read the final 2 issues right here for free. They will also be available as part of the Dead @ 17: The 13th Brother TPB hitting stores in just a few short weeks - and I will be eternally grateful to everyone who shows their support by picking  up a copy.

(Just a tip: If it's been a while since you've read issues 1-4, you might want to go and refresh your memory before diving in.)

So, without further adieu....

TRANSFORM!

I've been dying to do a Transformers piece for a while, so here's my take on the Autobots from the new animated series on Cartoon Network (which is awesome, by the way).

Bid on the original on here.

THE JOSH FILES

A couple of my most dedicated fans, JJ Walsh and Tim Morrell,  took upon themselves the unenviable task of compiling a comprehensive list of pretty much everything I've done to date. Even I was a little shocked by how much stuff is out there with my name on it (and how much of it even I don't have!) You can see the results of their work at The Josh Files. Thanks, guys!!

SOME NEW ART

Being as busy as I've been lately, I've had zero time for doing any leisure drawing. So in the interest of my sanity,  I carved out a couple hours today to just do whatever the heck I wanted. A couple of these are pieces I drew a couple months ago and sold through Ebay but never got a chance to do any digital work to them. The Athena/Cylon piece I drew today. The other is a recent Dejah Thoris marker commission.
